It was a pleasure to work with Dr. Deepti Sastry and her team at IS as she led an Outcome Harvesting exercise for one of Counterpart International's projects in 2023. We were impressed with IS’ capacity to immediately understand the project, our partners, and their results – along with their ability to convey programmatic achievements in a meaningful construct. I appreciated the flexibility and willingness to conduct the Outcome Harvesting exercise remotely. In particular, IS’ attention to detail, coaching, and facilitator’s notes equipped our team (who had limited prior experience with conducting Outcome Harvesting) with the necessary knowledge and confidence to co-facilitate the harvest. Deepti came as a highly-skilled and much needed independent pair of eyes to one of my programmes. As the MEL architect of the programme, I was not in the position to evaluate the pieces of work within it; I needed someone with experience of complex, learning-focused MEL methods given the architecture, and excellent interpersonal skills given the sensitivity of the piece (anti-corruption sector). Deepti exceeded my expectations. She handled what could be quite challenging stakeholders with grace, and managed to complete her work remotely despite the covid-19 lockdown and equip my team with thorough storeys of change (SoCs). She was endlessly patient with my perfectionistic traits, and took the time to really understand how the SoCs fit into the broader evaluative and learning structures such that my team were able to use them rather than just file them. I cannot recommend working with her more highly.
